Centre for Digital Habits

Who we help

We work with universities, schools and organisations. We run the programme, and you follow its impact in a live dashboard.

What we help people create

Most conversations start with one of these.

A healthier digital environment
Room for focused work
Calmer evenings and better sleep
Clear lines between work and rest
Less time lost to feeds
A setup that fits how each person works

Questions we often get

What is the Centre for Digital Habits?
A not-for-profit built on more than a decade of research at the University of Oxford. We help universities, schools and organisations give their people control over their devices, through training, open-source products and research that informs design and policy.
What challenges can you help with?
Distraction during study and work, the pull of feeds and notifications, blurred lines between work and rest, and evenings that disappear into a screen. We help people build a digital environment that supports what they are trying to do.
Why run live training sessions?
Most people already know what distracts them. What helps is changing the setup, with someone on hand while they do it. Our peer-reviewed evaluation found a 58% increase in digital self-control after a single session. Live sessions now sit alongside Digital Habits Studio, so the people who cannot attend are reached too.
How many people can take part?
It depends on the format. Tell us how many students, staff or team members you want to reach, and we will suggest the right mix of live sessions and Studio.
What does it cost?
Short talks start from £275. Institutional programmes start from £795.
How do we bring this to our institution?
Fill in the form below or email hello@digitalhabits.org. Most institutions start with Digital Habits Studio and live sessions, and many go on to train their own facilitators.
